The Nightmare Realm

The first realm, Black Haven, was first created by the Generator known as The Trickster. Following his murder of The Figure, and his assimilation of The Demon, The Trickster went on to create something tangible- to use the powers of creation naturally afforded to his species. Unbeknownst to him however, through creating Black Haven, he realized the dream and goal of The Demon, which led to his awakening and subsequent corruption of the entire world.

Each of the Realms were created with different facets of each Generator in mind, The Heavens being the perfect combination of all eight. Black Haven is no different. The laws of the world vary, and very little makes sense- because of The Trickster’s power of deception. Due to The Figure, everything seems to be a silhouette- no depth whatsoever- but when paired with The Trickster’s power, it has form.

The Demon corrupted the entire realm- turning it from a dark forest of shadows, to a living nightmare. What was violet turned red, what was good turned bad, and so on.

Because of the corruption of the world, the remaining Generators; The Creator, The Bearer, The Hollow, The Caster, and The Alchemist, unite into one being- an amalgamation of both their powers and bodies, at the cost of their lives. The new being created became The Founder. Using the powers gifted to him, he created every world that makes up the 8 Realms as a buffer and blockade against the darkness festering within Black Haven. But after eons of standoffs, The Demon made a move with the conception of what became known as the Demon Kin. The Demon Kin poured out exponentially through each realm, forcing The Founders hand and igniting what becomes known as “The Great War”. Through the efforts of The Founder and his Royals, the Demon Kin were pushed back all the way to The Edge- where the tear between the Realms leaked Demons in hordes. Ripping out a part of his soul, using the part of him that was once The Hollow, The Founder created a barrier, which became the eighth and final Realm- The Void; a world whose sole purpose is to seal off Black Haven from the rest of the Realms.

And that is how it stayed for millennia- until…
